SAYv Animal Organization is a start-up animal welfare organization working on life-sayving solutions throughout the U.S., Aruba and Puerto Rico. Our operations are based in Chicago and surrounding suburbs, and we are working to expand into Fort Wayne, Indiana, as well as Atoka, Oklahoma. We intend to eventually expand across the U.S. and add farm animals to our efforts. We are focused on technology, efficiency, networking and compassion. As a start-up organization, we have A LOT to learn and a lot to organize, but we are ready for the challenge and welcome any team member that has a go-getter attitude just like the rest of us!
This volunteer position will help build this program as it launches and maintain operations on a go-forward basis.
This is a remote position with no specific location requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Update medical records in Shelterluv (SAYv’s intake management system) as well as internal tracking spreadsheets and tools
Coordinate vet appointments for animals in our care based on foster location and schedule and vet partner availability
Submit foster authorization forms or miscellaneous forms to vet partners ahead of scheduled appointments
Send appointment confirmations to fosters
Create medical plans for animals we are bringing in (to be shared with fosters, foster to adopters, and adopters)
Send supplies and medicine to fosters or adopters when appropriate
Support medical issues and questions from fosters and adopters alongside the SAYv team
Create medical protocols and procedures for SAYv - both for internal use and to be shared with fosters and adopters
Create and manage vet partnerships
Train and onboard additional medical support team members as needed
Miscellaneous requests as needed
Required skills:
Available approximately 10 hours per week
Tech savvy; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, intake management system and Trello (project management tool)
Deadline-driven and organized
Ability to multitask and handle multiple requests at once
Customer service skills/communication skills
